Chennai

Chennai formerly known as Madras, is the capital city of south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is India's sixth-largest city in terms of population. Facing the bay of Bengal and it is one of the important centre for Bharata Natyam, a classical Indian dance form. The weather is hot and humid for most of the year.

It is home to the second longest urban beach in the world the Marina Beach. South India is famous for its temples. Even if you aren't on a pilgrimage, these are worth a visit if you are interested in grand buildings and architecture. There are 33, 000 temples in and around Chennai.
